This seal carving block is imported from Japan and is made of solid hardwood taken from the core of the tree. This is not pressed wood or manufactured wood. Note that you can see the actual rings of the tree's growth on the block!

This block accommodates the small cylindrical family seals 1/4" in diameter, but expands to hold any seal 1/4" thick, and expands up to 1 1/8" wide.

The larger holder can accommodate seals from 3/8" to 1 1/4" thick. The opposite side of the block can be used for carving the side of the seal with poetry, artist's name, carver's name, etc. It can accommodate seals 5/8" wide to 1 1/4" wide.
