Magic Paper - Sumi-e Board comes in three fun colors, Green, Red, and Black. This is wonderful teaching or practice tool because you can do everything you need to without sumi! Just add water and you're off and painting. The paper gives intense color when wet, despite the greyish appearance of the surface when dry.
This paper comes unmounted. We recommend that you fasten the sheet to a cardboard backing using double-sided scotch tape. Glue may give you a bumpy surface and make your painting or calligraphy efforts less effective. As always, the quality of the brush does effect the outcome of the work.
Dip your clean brush in clean water and make a brushstroke on the paper. Your brushstroke will darken and look just like ink. It's only water though. So in a few minutes, after you've had a sip or two of tea, the water will evaporate leaving a clean surface to use over and over again.
No mess, nothing to clean, nothing to spill. The paper will last for years with proper care. Proper care means only use a clean brush (one that is never used for anything else and never been used for anything else) and clean water. Magic markers, crayons, watercolors, etc will not evaporate off the paper.
Avoid over saturation so that you can let the water evaporate naturally. Rubbing or wiping will burnish the working surface and shorten the life of the paper.
