MILKY-WAY - 2004
Sumi-Ink and Japanese Water Color - 25" x 20"
Milky Way - 2004 was painted for the Tanabata Festival which is
legendary in Japan.
Tanabata is the Festival that takes place on the seventh day of the
seventh month of the year, when according to legend, the two stars
Orihime and Kengyuu (Vega and Altair), who loved each other dearly,
were separated by a jealous star standing between them in the Milky
Way. Each year these two lovers are once again able to meet from
across the Milky Way. Milky Way - 2004 was painted in celebration of
the perfect unity of the two stars.
