FLYING DRAGON
Sumi-Ink on Rice Raper

The dragon character is Sosho style and is flying in the clouds above the waves of the ocean. According to mythology, the dragon rests in caves in the depths of the sea in Winter. It emerges in Spring bringing the first rainfall of the season, showering nourishment and prosperity upon the land.

Exhibited at the Carnegie Art Museum, Oxnard.
